In all fairness to those residents who can remember the days when the city was struggling with vacancies and benignly neglected structures during the 1950’s and 1960’s when a plan was proposed to connect Route 50 as a truck bypass access arterial from points north and east to points west by demolishing most of Franklin Street in Franklin Square. To my knowledge, this discussion on truck routes and bypasses has been going on since 2005.
